National Police Chief Launches PPA and PPO Directorate, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform: The State Is Present to Protect Vulnerable Groups!

JAKARTA – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has officially launched the Directorate for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (PPA–PPO) in 11 Regional Police Headquarters (Polda) and 22 district-level Police Resorts (Polres).

Indonesia’s Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, stated that the establishment of the PPA–PPO Directorate is a manifestation of the state’s presence in providing protection for vulnerable groups.

“The state is present to provide protection to vulnerable communities, especially in protecting children and combating human trafficking,” Rini said at the National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (January 21, 2026).

According to Rini, in June 2025 the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform had approved the formation of the directorate in 11 Polda and 22 Polres. She expressed hope that it would continue to be expanded throughout Indonesia.

“And of course, we will continue to develop these services so that they can be available in all regions,” Rini added.
