Panongan Police Check Flood-Prone Areas as Panongan River Water Level Rises and Covers the Road

Tangerang Regency – As an anticipatory and early detection measure against potential flooding, Panongan Police of Tangerang City Police conducted inspections of flood-prone areas within their jurisdiction on Thursday (January 22, 2026).

The inspection activity was carried out from 10:00 a.m. WIB until completion, focusing on monitoring the flow of the Panongan River, which serves as a water channel from the Cimanceri River. The monitoring took place in Ranca Kalapa Village, RT 003/02, Bojong Dakir Hamlet, Panongan District, Tangerang Regency.

Based on field observations, the water level was recorded to have risen by approximately ±50 centimeters toward the land area and had covered the roadway, causing water pooling and potentially disrupting community activities.

The activity involved Panongan Police personnel, including Iptu Agus (Head of Community Development Unit), Aipda Herman (Bhabinkamtibmas), and Aipda Rio Sumboyo (Bhabinkamtibmas). Also present were the Acting Head of Ranca Kalapa Village, Herman, S.H., M.Si, along with members of the Flood Preparedness Village Team (KSB – Kampung Siaga Banjir).

In addition to checking the water level, officers coordinated with the village government and community elements to enhance preparedness and urged residents to remain vigilant against potential flooding, especially if rainfall intensity increases.

Panongan Police Chief Iptu Irruandy Aritonang, S.H., stated that this activity is part of the Indonesian National Police’s efforts to ensure public security and order remain safe and conducive, even amid potential natural disasters.

“We continue to conduct monitoring and cross-sector coordination as anticipatory measures. The presence of the police in the field is expected to provide a sense of security and ensure community preparedness in facing possible flooding,” he said.

As of the conclusion of the activity, conditions at the location were observed to be under control and conducive, with continued monitoring being carried out by the relevant parties.
