Cikupa, Tangerang — The Cikupa Sector Police (Polsek Cikupa) carried out security measures during a protest held by the Coalition of Students and Community Members of Tangerang Regency at the Citra Raya traffic light, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, on Friday (January 23, 2026).
The protest, which began at approximately 2:00 PM WIB, involved 31 participants with field coordinator Mr. Abiyyu Ikhbar Atahaya. The demonstrators consisted of students from STIKes Balaraja, UNTARA, and Iyarsi Medika.
During the action, the protesters conveyed several demands, including calling on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia to pay attention to the use of the Tangerang Regency Regional Budget (APBD), which they assessed as being improperly targeted. They also urged the Tangerang Regency Government to evaluate APBD management so that it addresses the root problems of the region, and pressed the Regent of Tangerang to evaluate all relevant department heads related to the use of regional funds.
Security for the protest was led directly by AKP Syamsul Bahri, S.TK., S.I.K., M.H., Head of Cikupa Police, with a total of 52 joint personnel from the Resort Police (Polres) and Sector Police (Polsek), in accordance with the assignment order.
Tangerang Metropolitan Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Andi M. Indra Waspada Amirulloh, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.Si., through the Head of Cikupa Police, AKP Syamsul Bahri, emphasized that the security measures were carried out to ensure that the expression of opinions in public took place safely, orderly, and in accordance with legal provisions.
“The Indonesian National Police are present to guarantee the freedom of expression in public so it can proceed safely and conducive, without disrupting public order or community activities,” the Police Chief stated.
